Description
Pailton House is an early 19th-century building that has been converted into two dwellings. It is constructed of brick with stucco rendering and features a hipped slate roof with stacks along the ridge. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The entrance door is panelled and part-glazed, topped with a honeysuckle fanlight. A Doric porch with square piers and responds supports a pedimented entablature above the door.
On the first storey, there are three 12-pane horned sash windows to the left and centre, with a blind window to the right. The ground storey features an 18-pane horned sash window to the left and a canted bay to the right, which includes one 12-pane sash and two 8-pane sashes, all framed with pilaster architraves. The windows on the ground and first storeys to the left have moulded architraves, as does the blind window on the first storey to the right. There is a plain pilaster at the left corner, while the right pilaster has a capital and is rusticated up to the level of the first storey window. The building is set upon a stucco plinth and has flat bracketed eaves. Inside, many original doors and fireplaces remain.
