Description
This building is a barn and stable located approximately 40 metres northeast of Hurley Hall. It dates from the 17th century, with some elements from the 18th and 19th centuries. The barn is timber-framed with brick infill and a high plinth, while the stable is constructed of brick. Both structures have plain-tile roofs and are arranged in an L-plan, with the stable on the left.
The stable features a bricked-up doorway with a door and window inserted in the mid to late 20th century. There is a small window opening and a pitch door on the left side. Inside, the barn has timber-framed divisions and a queen post roof with wind braces. The stable includes a stable door and a small window opening in the angle, along with a projecting wing that also has a stable door. Brick segmental arches are present throughout the building. The interior of the stable is noted for having hay racks and part of a trough. This building is included for its group value.
