Description
Hurley Hall, dating from around 1720, is a house constructed of Flemish bond brick with painted stone dressings and brick dentil string courses. It features an old plain-tile hipped roof behind a parapet and has brick ridge stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with five bays. The symmetrical front, which is oriented at right angles to the road, has slightly projecting end and central bays.
The entrance includes a segmental arched glazed and panelled door, sheltered by a porch supported by painted stone fluted Tuscan pilasters and late 20th-century fiberglass columns with a simple curved roof. The segmental-arched sash windows are adorned with keystones and moulded cornices. The central bay exhibits intermittent stone rustication on the upper floors, while the first floor features a late 20th-century fixed-light window. There are blocked windows on the upper floors in the first bay and in the central and fifth bays of the second floor.
The left return side and rear of the building are irregular in design. Inside, the hall is notable for its three bays, featuring selection panelling and an arch leading to an open well staircase. The room to the left has a former open fireplace, while the room behind the hall includes bolection panelling and a bolection moulded fireplace with a round-arched niche and fluted pilasters to the left.
To the left of the entrance front, there is an attached wall that runs at right angles, featuring moulded stone copings. The front section of the wall has a concave quadrant curved end section and is partly collapsed, standing approximately 0.8 metres high.
