Description
Bentleys Farmhouse is a house that dates from the early 17th century, with additions from the 18th century and late 20th century. It is timber-framed with red brick infill and red brick sections. The roof is plain-tiled and hipped at the southeast end, featuring a ridge stack. Originally, the house was a single range, which has since been extended to the northwest and again by a range on the southwest. The main range has two storeys, with the front made of red brick and late 20th century wood casements on both the first and ground floors. The rear and gable end walls display exposed timber-framing. The southwest wing is also constructed of red brick with a plain-tiled roof and has two storeys, featuring late 20th century casements on both floors, along with a late 20th century lean-to porch of brick at the angle. The addition to the northwest is from the mid to late 17th century, consisting of one storey and an attic, with five late 20th century wood gable dormers and two bow windows on the ground floor, also late 20th century.
