Description

The coach house, located approximately 10 meters east of the Church of St Lawrence, was built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed stone and features a blue machine tile roof with a cavetto eaves band and an end stack to the south. The entrance front is single-storey and sits on a plinth course, with a long frontage of about 15 meters.

To the left end, there is a block mullioned 2-light window next to a Tudor-arched door on the right. To the left of center, there is an elliptically-arched boarded coach door, with a further plain opening that has been converted into a casement window on the right end. The north gable includes a hay hole with a keyed architrave above it and a 2-light block mullioned window. Due to the low eaves height, only a barouche could fit inside the building during services, possibly that of Bateman of Biddulph Grange.
