Description

This stone seat and arbour, located in Lime Walk approximately 15 metres south of Biddulph Grange, was created around 1860 by John Bateman. It is made of sandstone and features a rectangular enclosure measuring about 8 metres by 4 metres, constructed with an ashlar plinth and accessed from the north-west side. A stone seat with a panelled back is positioned along the south side of the enclosure. The structure is situated above and to the west of the steps that begin the garden's perambulation, making it an ideal spot for viewing the garden layout, particularly the Egyptian portal.
