Description

Bank Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a core dating from the 17th century, featuring a refronting from the 18th century and alterations from the late 19th century. The front is constructed of coursed squared and dressed stone of ashlar quality, topped with a machine tile roof and verge parapets, and has brick end stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan and is two stories high with a two-window entrance front. It includes 3-light 20th-century casements and a raised string at the cill level of both floors. There is a small blind central opening on the first floor and a central entrance that features a Tuscan doorcase with a part-glazed door. The gable facing the lane has blind chamfered mullioned 3-light windows on the ground floor. At the rear of the entrance front, there is a massive lintel above a former front door, with a cavetto string running the length of the elevation stepped over it. Additionally, there is a stair window with three tiers and six lights, which is block mullioned and transomed, located on the side of the gable facing the lane.
