Description
This is a privy located at Colwich Lock on the Trent and Mersey Canal, likely built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick painted cream and features a plain tile roof. The entrance faces Colwich Lock Cottage, and there are ventilation gaps in the brickwork at the rear. The privy is positioned directly above the lock overflow weir, which is used for sewage disposal. The Trent and Mersey Canal was constructed between 1766 and 1777 by James Brindley and Hugh Henshall. This structure is included for its group value.
