Description

The Dale Monument, located approximately 70 metres west of the Church of St Mary, is a Grade II listed structure dedicated to Philip Dale, who died in 1825, Ann Dale, who died in 1849, and other members of the Dale family. Erected in 1825, the monument is made of ashlar and features an oval plinth adorned with pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. At the top, there is an urn with a tall finial. The inscription on the west face notes that the monument was erected by the residuary legatees of Philip Dale.
