Description
The Lamb and Flag Inn and N & W S Taylor's premises is a late 18th century building with later alterations. It features three bays, with the central bay slightly inset. The exterior is finished in stucco and rises to three storeys. There are three casement windows and five shallow bay windows topped with lead pentice roofs, one of which has glazing bars. The entrance has a plain doorcase with a segmental fanlight above it. There are plaster plaques over the end bays. On the right side, there is an early 19th century shop front that includes a plain doorcase with a rectangular fanlight, modern window lath fenestration, and a cornice hood supported by foliated plaster consoles. To the left, there is a mid-19th century gabled wing that has one sash window with a cornice hood, also on foliated consoles. The building features plain eaves, rendered stacks, and a slate roof.
