Description

The War Memorial, located in Granville Square, Stone, was created around 1919 by the sculptor Albert Toft. It is made of ashlar stone and features bronze elements. The memorial consists of a tall stepped plinth adorned with bronze plaques displaying the names of those commemorated on its sides. Atop the plinth stands a striking bronze figure of a soldier, depicted without a hat and leaning on his rifle.
