Description
The Boathouse and Cottage, located in Weston Park, dates from the late 19th century. It is constructed of rusticated sandstone ashlar and features a slate roof with a gabled design, a widely projecting verge towards the lake, and fretted eaves boards. The building has an L-shaped plan in the Swiss Cottage style and is a single storey with a gabled front facing the lake. The boathouse has an arched opening and a quatrefoil at the apex, supported by cusped corbels on cantilevered purlins. The cottage at the rear includes cast iron casements with colored glass borders, a hipped angled end to the right, and a half-glazed door with patterned glazing.
