Description
Holland House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century and was remodeled and extended around 1840. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof with shaped gables. There is a central brick stack with four square section shafts. The main part of the house is aligned north-south and faces west, with two rear wings that are aligned east-west. There are 19th-century additions to the east of these wings.
The west front of the house has two storeys and three bays, featuring 19th-century casement windows with wooden mullions and raised plaster surrounds. There is a central gabled break from around 1840, which includes a blind rectangular loop in the shaped gable. At ground level, there is a stone bench supported by shaped brackets on piers, which holds up a hipped roof.
On the south front, the gable end of the main range is to the left, with an attached rear wing that has a 19th-century single-storey porch added, featuring a shaped gable and a rounded entrance arch. To the right, there are two 19th-century gabled extension wings. The north front shows the gable end of the front range to the right, with an attached rear wing that has small blocked windows with gauged brick heads. To the left, there is a gabled 19th-century extension that has cast iron casements with patterned glazing bars.
