The pair of canal locks at the junction with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal are late 18th century structures, with later repairs. They are constructed of brick and feature stone coping. The Stourbridge Canal was opened in 1779 to connect with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal near Stewponey Wharf.
