Description

Stourton Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse that has been converted into a house. The front wall was rebuilt in the late 19th century, and there are 20th-century additions. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof with coped verges. The external end stacks are brick with twin shafts and oversailing caps. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the main range aligned north-south facing east and a staircase wing at the rear aligned east-west; however, the house now faces west.

The east front has two storeys and an attic, characterized by a dentilled eaves band. It features two tripartite glazing bar sash windows with horns and segmental heads, along with two gabled dormers and corner pilaster strips. There is a central blocked doorway. To the right, there is a projecting single-storey gabled extension with an end stack and a segmental-headed casement, as well as a segmental-headed door on the left-hand return. The gable ends of the principal range have storey bands and small glazing bar casements with flat arches. There are sympathetic 20th-century extensions to the west, including a gabled porch.

Inside, the farmhouse retains an 18th-century staircase with a moulded handrail, closed string, and tapering balusters on moulded plinths.
