Description

Carlton House is a large house, now used as club premises, dated 1769. It features a render over brick construction with plain tiled roofs. The building is two storeys high and has a five-bay plan. The central doorway is topped with a segmental pediment supported by Tuscan columns. This doorway is flanked by 12-pane sash windows with flat heads, and there is a tripartite canted bay window with a slate roof and modillion cornice. A fluted string course runs along the building. To the right, there is a later addition from the mid-19th century, which includes a round arched doorway and a tripartite window.
