Description

No. 17 High Street, which also includes No. 56 Merrial Street, is a shop premises built in the early 19th century and likely designed for that purpose. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a plain tiled roof. It stands three stories tall and features three bays. The late 19th-century shop front has a doorway set in a curved angle, flanked by windows that are separated by pilasters and topped with pediments in the fascia. Above the shop front, there are four-light sash windows with flat arched heads. The building is finished with a dentilled eaves cornice and has gable end stacks.
