Description

Fenton House, originally a shop and dwelling, was built in 1747. It is located on the north-east side of High Street, Newcastle under Lyme. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a plain tile roof. It comprises three bays, with the central bay projecting forward. The ground floor has a modern shop front, while the upper floors feature four-pane sash windows set within moulded stone architraves. A moulded stone eaves cornice runs along the top of the building and is finished with four stone urns, each decorated with swags and flames.
