Description

This sundial, dating from the early to mid-19th century, is located approximately 15 meters north of the east end of the Church of St Lawrence in Chapel Chorlton. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features an octagonal shaft that rests on a square base. The bottom of the shaft has stop-chamfered edges with run-out stops on four sides, while the top is adorned with a concave-sided cap. The sundial is included in the listing for its group value with the nearby church.
