Description
Church House Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with significant later additions and alterations. It is constructed of painted brick and features a dentil eaves cornice that probably hides a timber frame, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building is designed in a hall and cross-wing style and has been extended and converted. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window front, which includes one window in the gable on the right; all windows are mid-19th century and 20th century casements. There is an integral end stack on the left, along with ridge stacks on the main range and gable. The entrance is located at the rear, accessed through a catslide outshut. Inside, the main range has large beams on the ground floor and a wide, remodelled fireplace. The front room of the cross-wing features a chamfered beam and heavy joists.
