Description
The war memorial, located adjacent to the lych gate at St John the Baptist Church, was built around 1920 and is made of sandstone ashlar. It features a cross shaft set on a square base, with shields positioned over offset buttresses that frame the inscription panels. The memorial stands on a stepped octagonal plinth. This structure is a notable example of a First World War memorial designed in the style of a market cross, and it is situated close to the Parish Church.
