408/0/10005 CHURCH BANK 30-JUL-02 War Memorial adjacent to Lych Gate at St John the Baptist Church

GV II

War memorial. c1920. Sandstone ashlar. Cross shaft set on square base with shields set over offset buttresses framing inscription panels; stepped octagonal plinth. This is a good example of a First World War memorial in the form of a market cross, situated close to the Parish Church.
