Former brewhouse, now part of Keele University refectory. Probably c.1860, and by Anthony Salvin, who re-built Keele Hall (q.v.) at this time. Sandstone ashlar, plain tile roof with fishscale bands. Rectangular in plan, Jacobean in style. Two storeys and garret; chamfered mullioned windows, one to north long side and one of four lights to west gable end; entrance through late C20 university refectory (not included), which abuts on three sides. Prominent integral lateral stack with four attached shafts to north long side and louvre to left; shaped gable ends with pointed finials and moulded bulls-eye windows. One to west also with two flanking campanile-like turrets.
