Description

Quonians House is a house that has been converted into an office. It likely dates from the 17th century, with a façade from the mid-18th century. The building is constructed of brick, possibly with some internal timber framing, and has a tile roof with brick stacks. It is designed in a Georgian style and has two storeys with an attic, featuring a four-window range. The top of the building includes a frieze and cornice.

The entrance is located to the right of the center and features a doorcase with pilasters, an entablature, and a pediment, along with an early fanlight that has thick wooden glazing bars, typical of Lichfield, above a six-fielded-panel door. The windows have sills, with those on the ground floor having rubbed brick flat arches and 16-pane sashes. There is a blind window above the entrance, and the attic includes a hipped dormer at the right end with a small-paned casement. The roof has a stack on the slope and another at the end. A downspout is marked with the letter "A."

On the left side, there is a segmental-headed window with a 12-pane sash and a roundel in the gable. A single-storey wing with an attic features a segmental-headed entrance with a six-panel door and a casement window with an iron opening casement, along with a three-light casement in the dormer and an end stack. A lower single-storey wing has an entrance with a lintel and a segmental-headed window with a top-hung casement.

At the rear, there is a gabled range and gabled wings, along with an attached 18th-century wall at the return and rear of the yard, which has a square outbuilding at the angle. Inside, the ground floor room to the left has fielded panelling, some of which is nowy-headed, and a fireplace with an overmantel. The side wall fireplace features an architrave, pulvinated frieze, and cornice. The hall at the rear includes a stick-baluster staircase, and the window in the front room has fragments of stained glass.
