Description

This is a milepost, possibly from the early 20th century, located on the north side of Little Aston Lane in Shenstone. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape. The inclined head of the milepost is set approximately 800mm above the ground. It is inscribed with the name "SHENSTONE" and on the left side, it indicates "WATFORD GAP 1/TAMWORTH 9". On the right side, it shows "LITTLE-/ASTON ¼/ALDRIDGE 2¼/WALSALL 6".
