Description
The gates, gate piers, and wall at Hanch Hall date from the mid-19th century. The wall surrounds the north side of the grounds of Hanch Hall, with the main gates located at the west end. It is constructed of rough-faced ashlar and features a dentilled cornice. The wooden gates have cusped openwork decoration and are flanked by a pair of red brick piers that have rusticated ashlar quoins and vase finials. To the east, there is a second pair of gates, which are flanked by square piers topped with acorn finials. At the south end of the wall, there is another gateway flanked by square piers with ball finials. This structure is included for its group value.
