Description

This house, now an office, was likely built around 1780, with later additions made subsequently. The building is constructed of brick with a tile roof, featuring brick end stacks. It stands three storeys high, originally with a three-window front, and incorporating a single-window addition to the left. A sill band runs along the first floor, and a top cornice and blocking course is present. The addition has its own brick cornice with coped gables. The central entrance is distinguished by an eared architrave, a fanlight with thick glazing bars set within a bracketed open pediment, and a 20th-century glazed door. To the left of the central entrance, a round-headed entry has a glazed door and impost detail. The left end of the building is plastered and contains two 20th-century entrances, one round-headed relating to the addition. A 20th-century shop front occupies the right end, characterized by panelled pilaster strips and a bracketed cornice, along with 20th-century plate glass windows. The first-floor windows have rubbed brick flat arches and 12-pane sashes; the addition includes an 8-pane sash. The second-floor windows also have brick flat arches, sills, and consist of one 6-pane sash and two 8-pane sashes, with the addition featuring a 4-pane sash.
