Description
28 and 30 Bore Street are two houses that have been converted into offices, built around 1820 with later 19th-century changes to the facade. The buildings are made of stucco, topped with a tile roof and a brick chimney. They stand two storeys tall with an attic and feature a symmetrical arrangement of four windows. There is a plinth, an entablature above the first floor, and a cornice at the attic level. Each entrance at either end has a shaped lintel with a key, an overlight, and a glazed door, flanked by narrow outer side windows. The facade includes two large late 20th-century shop windows with gabled surrounds, while the other windows have sills and shaped lintels with keys above horned sash windows, although the lower glazing bars are missing. The side lights have 4/1-pane sashes, the first-floor windows have outer 6/1-pane and inner 8/1-pane sashes, and the attic windows have outer 3/1-pane and inner 4/1-pane sashes. The rear features dormers with cornices and hipped wings. Inside, No. 30 contains a late 19th-century staircase with turned balusters and newels.
