Description

Nos. 18, 20, and 22 Bore Street are three houses that have been converted into offices and a shop. They were built around 1810 and feature a brick construction with ashlar dressings and a triple-gabled tile roof. The buildings are designed in a Georgian style and have three storeys with a seven-window range.

The structure includes a plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a top cornice. Each of the three entrances is framed by doorcases that have panelled pilaster strips, friezes, and cornices, along with overlights that feature glazing bars arranged in the form of fanlights above six-fielded-panel doors. The rightmost entrance has a bowed iron lamp bracket. The entrance to the right end of No. 22 is distinguished by a rubbed brick flat arch and an overlight with decorative glazing bars above a six-flush-panel door.

To the right end, there are two 20th-century shop windows that are accented with Corinthian pilasters and entablatures, and fielded-panelled aprons beneath three-light glazing. No. 22 features a 19th-century shop window with pilasters and a rusticated moulded arch, which includes two-light glazing with a transom and three upper lights. The window to the right of the entrance to No. 22 has a sill and a rubbed brick flat arch above a 16-pane sash window. Similar sash windows are found on the first floor, although four of the rightmost windows have lost their lower glazing bars. The second floor windows have eight-pane sashes. There are two downspouts with flat brackets.

At the rear, the buildings have a brick cornice and similar window arrangements, along with a two-storey hipped wing.
