Description
Grand Lodge is a lodge built in 1814 by John Shaw for the Second Earl of Uxbridge. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features brick stacks with lozenge-shaped shafts. The building is aligned north-west to south-east and faces north-east, showcasing a Tudor Gothic style. The centerpiece is two stories tall and includes octagonal corner turrets topped with ogee-shaped domes. Above a four-centred gateway arch, there is a three-light oriel window with mullions. The gatehouse connects to a pair of flanking two-story towers that have corner finials, linked by single-story flat-roofed sections. On the outer side of the towers, there are single-story flat-roofed annexes with 20th-century casements. The building has a chamfered plinth and plain parapets throughout. The front has seven windows featuring two and three-light chamfered mullioned windows with rebated surrounds and straight hood moulds. Grand Lodge formerly served Beaudesert Hall.
