Description
Gorton Lodge is a house built in the early 18th century. It features plastered walls and a hipped plain tile roof with brick stacks at the ends. The building is two storeys high and has a plain parapet with moulded coping. The front has six windows, which are glazing bar sashes with lintels that are stepped to resemble voussoirs. There are inserted French casements to the left of the main entrance. The central entrance is a six-panel door surrounded by pilasters. To the left, there is a low two-storey annexe. At the rear, there is a stair window with a semi-circular head. Inside, the staircase has a closed string, twisted balusters, and a ramped handrail. The interior also features early 18th-century panelling and a fireplace with a bolection moulded surround.
