Description

Lea Grange is a farmhouse, reputedly with a 16th-century core, that was refaced in the mid-19th century and extended and altered in the 20th century. The walls are of rendered brickwork, and the roof is tiled. It has a tall ridge stack inset from the ends; the left stack is offset from the entrance axis. The farmhouse is single-storey with a half-dormer attic and has a three-window front. The windows are 20th-century casements, with a bow front on the ground floor, except for the right-hand bay, which is a slightly set-back addition, and has slightly higher eaves to accommodate the upper window. The entrance is set to the left of centre, with a tall opening featuring a segmental-headed overlight above panelling and a three-centred arch framing a boarded door. A taller, projecting 20th-century addition to the left, under separate occupation, is not of special architectural interest.
