Description
3 Schofield Lane is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th century. The building is timber framed with brick infill and a brick addition, topped with a plain tile roof and featuring a brick off-ridge stack. It is oriented north-south and faces west. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with three square panels at the eaves and straight braces. The windows display irregular fenestration, including glazing bar casements—three on the ground floor and two gabled dormers located at the center and left. To the left of the center, there is a 19th-century gabled porch that includes a boarded door. A single-storey brick extension from the 19th century is located to the right, featuring one casement window and a central stack. The left-hand gable reveals an exposed queen strut truss, with one pair of purlins and a ridge piece.
