Description

The Fiddler’s Rest is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is timber-framed with brick infill, and some brick rebuilding, and has a thatched roof with a scalloped ridge. There are brick integral end stacks and a ridge stack. The house has three framed bays aligned north-south, facing west. Originally, the eaves had three square panels with straight braces, but only the top tier is now exposed. The left-hand bay has a slightly lower ridge line. The building has three windows; these are casements, with segmental heads to the ground floor windows. There is a glazed door with a thatched porch to the right of the central bay, and another glazed door with a gabled porch to the right of the left-hand bay. The interior has not been inspected.
