Description
Lodge Cottage is a 17th-century house located on the southwest side of Rugeley Road in Armitage with Handsacre. The building is timber framed with brick infill and features a thatched roof with brick ridge stacks. It has a three-cell baffle-entry plan and is aligned north-south, facing east. The cottage is one storey with an attic, showcasing three square panels at the eaves supported by straight braces. The windows are arranged irregularly, with five glazing bar casements on the ground floor and two dormer windows in the attic, which are arched over by the roof. The entrance door is positioned to the left of the center. There is a single-storey lean-to extension on the left side of the cottage. Inside, the cottage features chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
