Description
The Old Farmhouse Restaurant is a farmhouse that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates back to the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid to late 19th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill and brick additions that are painted to resemble timber framing. It has a hipped plain tile roof and a brick ridge stack with lozenge-shaped shafts. The structure consists of a two-bay range aligned east-west, facing north, and has extensions to the east, as well as additional structures to the west and south.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and showcases square panelled timber framing with straight braces. The eaves level has been raised slightly, likely during the 19th century, and the fenestration is somewhat irregular. There are two 19th-century gabled porches, each featuring segmental-headed casements that have been inserted into blocked doorways, along with small first-floor casements that have cast iron latticed frames. Additionally, there is a 20th-century lean-to porch situated between the two gabled porches.
Inside, the restaurant retains chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
