Description
The former summerhouse, located immediately west of Spode House, dates from around 1840 and has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a cast iron frame on the south side, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof. The building is aligned east-west and faces south, showcasing octagonal corner turrets. It is a single storey structure with 12 bays of cast iron panels that include blind Tudor-arches and windows above. The four central bays are flanked by a pair of cast iron octagonal columns with crenellated caps, and there is a door to the right. Built on the side of a hill, the north side of the summerhouse displays four four-centred basement arches, each providing access to a brick vault. Additionally, there is a circular window in the east gable.
