Description
41 and 43 Market Street are two shops dating from the early to mid 18th century. They are constructed from stucco and feature hipped tile roofs, arranged in a right angle plan and designed in the Georgian style. The buildings are two storeys high and have a four-window range. They have a top coped parapet with a shaped gable on the left side. The shop fronts were modified in the mid 20th century. The upper floor windows have sills and wedge lintels with keys above horned sashes; the first floor has 12-pane sashes, while the left side has replaced 6/9-pane sashes, with two 9-pane and two 6-pane sashes on the second floor. There are also two plastered gables at the rear. These buildings are included for their group value.
