Description
34 and 36 Market Street is an office building dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and features a double-span tile roof. The building has a double-depth plan and is designed in the Georgian style, standing three storeys tall with a four-window range. There are platt bands on the upper floors and a plain parapet. The ground floor has 20th-century openings with brick surrounds, while the upper windows have sills; the first-floor windows contain 12-pane sashes, and the second-floor windows have 6-pane sashes. The rear of the building has casement windows. Inside, chamfered beams are visible on the first floor. This building is included for its group value.
