Description
The Duke of York Public House is a public house that also incorporates a house, dating from the 18th century, with some earlier timber-frame elements. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and features a tile roof with brick stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with a two-window range of the former house to the left. The entrance is located to the right of the centre and has a plain doorcase with a blind overlight above a six-flush-panel door. The ground floor includes windows with 20th-century casements, while the first floor has three-light small-paned casements with window boxes. There is a cross-axial stack to the left of the entrance and a truncated stack at the left end. The former house has an entrance with a battened door at the left end and windows with small-paned casements; the first-floor windows are smaller. The rear of the building features two gabled wings with 20th-century infill, and the house has a wing with a double gable. Inside, there is a timber-framed cross-wall to the right of the entrance.
