Description

The Gig House is a former agricultural building located approximately 46 metres north of Wellcroft Farmhouse. It dates from the 18th century but was largely rebuilt in the early 19th century. The structure is made of coursed and squared rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof.

On the east side, there are doors to the right and left of the center, with the left door accessed by four stone steps. There is a carriage arch to the left and a straight building joint next to it. The south gable features a central stable-type door flanked by two small window openings, along with a central two-light mullioned loft window and an oval oculus above. The north gable has a central small ground floor casement and a central loft opening.
