Description

Church View is a 17th-century house with later alterations. It is timber-framed with brick nogging on a stone plinth, and has a plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. The house follows a 3-cell lobby entry plan, incorporating a hall in the central bay, a parlour in the north-west bay, and services in the south-east bay. It is one storey and attic in height, with 3 square panels to the eaves. There are 3 windows, which are 18th-century casements, and dormers are located to the left and centre, with the roof sweeping over them. A 20th-century brick extension has been added to the right. Inside, there is a large open fireplace with a timber surround and 17th-century decorative plasterwork to the south-east wall of the hall. The building is given Group Value for its elaborate plasterwork.
