Description

Manor Farmhouse is probably late 17th century, located in Leigh. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and has a plain tile roof. A central brick stack is visible. The farmhouse follows a two-cell lobby-entry plan. It is one storey and attic in height, with two windows to the front, which are casements with rebated surrounds and straight hood moulds. The windows were formerly mullioned, and a gabled dormer is positioned to the right, featuring bracketed painted barge boards. A central boarded door is set beneath a massive stone lintel. An attached former cowshed to the right is not of particular interest. The left-hand gable displays a four-light chamfered mullioned window to the ground floor, along with two inserted first-floor casements. The right-hand gable reveals an exposed queen strut roof truss.
