Description
Nos 32 to 36 on Carter Street are a range of timber-framed and painted brick cottages built in 1756, showcasing a picturesque appearance. The cottages are two storeys high and feature five casement windows, along with four small gabled dormers and a stone plinth. Number 32 includes an 18th-century bow window with glazing bars and a glazed door, topped with a plain frieze and cornice. Number 36 has a projecting pentice on the ground floor and two windows with glazing bars, along with plain eaves and old tiles. A plaque on the building notes that Francis Redfern, known as "The Historian of Uttoxeter," resided here from 1823 to 1875. The White Hart Hotel, the Coach and Horses Public House, and Nos 32 to 36 together form a group of significant buildings.
