Description

Cartwright, Chemist is a building dating from 1756, located on the west side of High Street at No. 9. It is constructed of red brick and features two storeys with three sash windows, which do not have glazing bars. The central window is a Venetian style and is adorned with moulded cornices. The building has a stone modillion eaves cornice and a parapet that includes panels of balusters. Additionally, there is a well-preserved late 19th-century shop front. Nos 5 to 13 (odd) form a group with this building.
