Description

The Cemetery Chapels, built in 1756 and altered around 1870, are designed in the Gothic style. Constructed from ashlar with slate roofs, the structure consists of two small chapels, one of which is currently used as a store. These chapels are connected by an arched covered-way and feature an octagonal tower with a spire, which has been truncated due to a fire. The design may be attributed to William Sugden, as it resembles his cemetery chapels in Leek.
