Description
Parkside Farmhouse, along with its attached stable and cowhouse, is a cottage dating from the 17th century with later alterations and additions. The building features a timber frame with brick infill and painted brick additions, topped with plain tile roofs and a brick ridge stack. It is arranged in an L-shape, consisting of a two-bay baffle-entry cottage with a rear wing, and stable and cowhouse additions to the southwest. The cottage is on the right, the stable is in the center under the same roof line, and the low cowhouse is on the left.
The cottage has one storey and an attic, with three square panels at the eaves. It features 20th-century lattice casements, with a small one in the center and a larger one on the right. There are also 20th-century flat-roofed dormers on the left and right, and a 20th-century glazed door on the left, which is sheltered by a rustic porch.
The stable has a door on the left with an overlight under a segmental head, a bottom-hung casement on the right, and a two-light loft opening in the center.
The cowhouse has a painted timber frame, with doors in the center and on the right, a skylight on the left, and a low lean-to extension on the left.
Inside, the main living room is located to the northeast and features chamfered and stopped beams along with an inglenook fireplace. There is a small service bay to the southwest.
