Description
The former stables, located approximately 130 yards north-north-west of Longford Hall, date from the late 17th century and are constructed from old brick. The building has a tiled roof with gabled ends and is two storeys high, featuring a six-window range. The windows are modern two-light casements with glazing bars set in segmental arched openings. There are two doorways with chamfered sandstone jambs and segmental arches that have corbelled keystones, along with a plain brick arched doorway at the center. The stables have two brick string courses adorned with diagonally set dentils and a sandstone plinth. Notable features include large sundials on the front and end walls, which are dated 1680. There is a modern garage in the gable end and a brick lean-to at the rear.
