Description

New Caynton Mill is an early 19th century red brick water mill located over the River Meese. The building features a long range with a slate roof, which has parapet gable ends and brick dentil eaves. It stands two storeys tall and has segmental arched openings, some of which are blocked, while others are fitted with cast-iron multi-pane window frames. At the center, there is a boarded and gabled hoist housing that is cantilevered. The mill is said to contain two water wheels and some remains of machinery.
