Description
South View, built in 1830, is a three-storey brown brick building located on the north-east side of Church Hill in Ironbridge. It features a slightly projecting bay to the left of the centre, topped with a gable that has an open pediment and a semi-circular headed window on the second storey. The building has four sash windows overall, each with plain surrounds, lintels, and keyblocks. The entrance is highlighted by a moulded wood pilaster doorcase with a semi-circular head, a traceried fanlight, and a six-panelled door. The eaves are plain, and the ends of the building are gabled, with a tiled roof. The property is complemented by wrought-iron railings that extend across the frontage, returning on the left-hand side, and includes a pair of entrance gates. These railings are set atop a high stone rubble retaining wall.
