Description

The Views consists of a pair of early 19th-century houses on Penkhull New Road, Stoke on Trent. The buildings are constructed of painted brick with a plain tiled roof. The larger house is of one- and two-unit plan, and has a central doorway set within a flat-roofed porch with a round-arched entrance. It is flanked by wide 16-pane sash windows with flat-arched rendered heads on each floor, and an additional window above the doorway. A central rear wing extends from the main body, and a lower bay window has been added or raised to the left. The smaller house features a doorway to the left, sheltered by a wooden canopy supported by moulded console brackets, and a canted bay window with a slate roof and small upper panes to the sash windows. Above are 16-pane sashes. The pair of houses each has side wall stacks, and a modillion eaves cornice runs across the entire facade.
